Friday, 8/10 - Sunday, 8/12

I did not have the computer this past weekend, so I am playing catch up on my blogs for the weekend. :)

Friday was one of my good friends birthday. She is 5 yrs older than me. She and I have been friends since I was in the 2nd grade. One of my longest friendships. Misty and I met when my dad was called to pastor First Baptist Church of Forrest City, Arkansas. She lived across the street from our house. We became fast friends. Over the years we have lost touch with each other, mainly due to each of us moving around. But, this past January, I found her on the internet. The internet can be good for some things :) Since then we have kept in touch with each other. She has 3 children now. 2 girls and a little boy. I was able to take off and meet her in Little Rock a few months ago. Her mom was with her. We had a good time visiting and getting to see each other again. She will always have a special place in my heart.

Saturday was pretty laid back. We didn't do a whole lot. But he did start showing more interest in potty training. We went to the potty a lot today. And he actually made it to the potty twice before he went. So that was exciting. He is getting to where he is embarassed about wearing a diaper and just refuses to put a new one on. Sam and I are thinking about buying him some big boy underwear to see how he does with those. Saturday evening, I took Caleb for a walk. We walked 1.2 miles. It was hot. I waited until 8pm - when the sun was going down, and even though our street is extremely shaded, it was still quite hot. But, Caleb enjoyed it. He loves to be outdoors. He just sits back and looks and observes every little thing he can. I love it.

Sunday morning Caleb and I went to church. Sam is not able to go on the weekends he works. Today was promotion day for Sunday School. Caleb was promoted to the 2yr olds class room. Joey and Tracey Griffith and the Saunders teach this class. He brought home his first bag of "lessons" from Sunday School. It was so neat. I am glad that he will actually be learning more instead of just playing during church. So, since he is now in a Sunday School class, that means I will actually be getting up and getting us there in time for Sunday School. I know that I should have been doing this all along, but for what ever reason, I/We have not been. So that will be changing :o)

Sunday afternoon we all took naps. Well needed naps, too. Sunday evening I had nursery duty. I was in the infants room with Darla Grimm. It was good getting to know her better. Then after church, I met up with Loretta at Maria's in bentonville for supper. Man, I could eat there every day if I could! :o) Not much else happened that evening. Caleb and I came home after supper. I gave Caleb a bath - b/c he always gives himself a bath in salsa at Maria's :o) Then we both went to bed.

What a fun weekend, huh?
