Cleaning..

Another busy weekend - but then again - what weekend isn't busy? Friday morning Sam got up and had to take his patrol car to the shop for new tires. He also stopped by the hotels that LFPD patrols for to get our hotel discount for our mini-vacation next week. Once he got home we headed into town and met Loretta at her house. Loretta (mother in law) was told this morning that she was no longer needed at her job. She was quite upset - but I totally understand. So we spent the afternoon with her. Sam fell asleep on the couch (not much sleep) - I tried to get Caleb to take a nap, but it wasn't about to happen. Knowing that I had a busy Saturday ahead in cleaning her house, I decided to get started on it early! I cleaned out her cabinets and re-arranged them...neatly.

Loretta is having a total knee replacement done Friday, August 24th. So that is why I am cleaning her house.

Loretta, Caleb and I left the house. She needed to get some comfortable sleepwear (shorts and shirts) and we also had to go to WM to get her stocked up on groceries! Sam worked the hotels Friday night, so that is why he didn't go with us :o)

We left the house and I took her down to Catherine's in Fayetteville to get her sleepwear. Man, even when that place has a sale - it is still EXPENSIVE!!! Even with them being 30% off - they were still $27.99 each!!! That is just insane. It is no wonder fat people are broke all the time - having to spend so much money on a simple outfit will break anyone! Anyways...

From there we went to WM on Pleasant Grove. Loretta climbed into one of those motorized carts and Caleb and I pushed a cart for the groceries. 2 1/2 hours later we finally left wal-mart. She ended up spending $246 on stuff she needed - groceries, and just things she was out of - or needed for the surgery. i thought her eyes were going to fall out of her head :o)

On the way back to her house we stopped at Maria's and got our food to go. We got back to her house, unloaded the groceries. And we sat down to eat our supper. Once Loretta and I finished eating - we cleaned out the fridge. Wow - that was an undertaking in itself! I cleaned it with clorox - if it was removable from the fridge - it was removed and cleaned thoroughly! Once that was done and the groceries were put up it was 10:30. So Caleb and I headed home.

Sam got home around 3:30am. He slept until 11. We left and headed back to Loretta's. Sam cleaned her carpets. I cleaned out the rest of her cabinets - threw away 4 big trashbags full of stuff - 99% of it had been expired for years! I unloaded the dishwasher - and I ended up washing over half of them by hand again - along with the rest of the dishes that were dirty. I cleaned the counters, stove, microwave. Sam fixed supper (greasy taco's..mmmm...good) and I fixed brownies for dessert. That was delicious!

I cleaned the kitchen...again. then I swept and mopped the floors - bleach again. Her floors haven't looked that good in a long time!

Candi brought Jadyn over around 730. Caleb and Jadyn played long and hard together. 90 to nothing the whole time. I fixed them some mac and cheese - they ate just about every bit of it!

We headed home finally around 930. I was pooped. Sam was pooped. Caleb was pooped! I gave Caleb a bath and put him to bed. Then I went and took a nice, long, hot bath myself. It felt great! After that - I crashed. I don't even remember my head hitting the pillow! Only bad thing - I forgot to set the alarm in order to get up for church....and we all slept until 915. Oops. Totally meant to be at church!

We got up and got dressed and we headed down to Pa's for lunch. We just had sandwich stuff. And that was perfectly fine with me. Less to clean up! We left Pa's and we went to the Fayetteville mall for a while. Just walked around a bit. We left there and went to Best Buy in Rogers. Sam started looking at Carpet Cleaners. We wanted to check out some prices. So we went to Kohl's and looked at theirs. They had one on sale - but the bottom did not have any type of a "scrubbing" action to it. So we walked down to Linens 'n Things. They had one there to -but the container that held the water and soap was not very secure.

About that time - Gary and Betty Isenhower called and said they were in town and wanted to see us and Caleb. So we left and went over to their hotel room and we visited for quite a while. It was really good to see them again. I pray God will lead them to a church that will love them and take care of them. They are struggling so much right now. I can't imagine being Gary's age - and working at WM for a mere 8.60 an hour. They deserve so much more than that. I know that God always has a reason for each obstacle we are faced with. Sometimes knowing what to learn from it is the hardest part, I guess.

We had a great visit with them. I miss having them around. :o)

After we all ate at Fudruckers, Caleb, Sam and I headed to WM - looking at carpet cleaners...this time we actually bought one. They had the same one we saw at Kohl's for 169 and at Best Buy for 199 - for only 139. So we bought it. Then we came home. I put Caleb to bed. Sam put the carpet cleaner together. I cleaned the kitchen. Then Sam cleaned the carpets. We finished up at about 1130. Then as the carpets dried- Sam and I played Phase 10. he beat me...this time. There will be another :o)

I think that is about all that is going on for now.

More later :o)
