Busy and Long Weekend

What a weekend! We celebrated Caleb's 2nd birthday this past weekend. Mom and dad drove in from Kentucky last Thursday. They didn't get in until around 8. I got home from WM about 10 minutes before they got to the house. I had to get some groceries - cause I was all out :o) We fixed bacon and mater sandwiches for supper. MMMMMMMMhMMMM are they ever so good!

Daniel flew in from Charlotte, SC on Friday. (He loves the benefits of working at the airline). After we picked him up from the airport, we went to Maria's and ate lunch. I could eat there every day if I could! Then we went to Hobby Lobby. Mom and Dad are getting Sam's Police Academy class picture and his diploma matted and framed for him. That is his graduation present from them. It shoul be ready on August 14th. I am excited to get it. I bought a few "fern" plants to put in the top shelf of my fireplace. Give it some "life". It looks really good. Sam, Dad and Daniel took off to Best Buy (sam wanted to buy the movie 300) and then they went home. Sam and Daniel were working off of very little sleep at this point. Mom, Caleb and I did some more shopping. Got more stuff for the birthday party. Then we took Caleb home - it was way past his nap time :o) Once I got him to sleep, Mom and I headed off to WM again. I swear, that place gets 1/2 of my paycheck!!! It seems like I am there every other day, if not every day! Anyways. We got back home and we got to fixing supper. Mom and Dad brought more veggies from their garden...yummmmm. We had corn on the cob, cornbread, purple-huled peas, grean beans, potatoes, fresh sliced maters. Man - that stuff is GOOOOOOD! We finished off the night by watching 300. That is an awesome movie!

Saturday was the birthday party at 2. Sam and I went to get Caleb's cake at 11. Beautiful. Amazing. Once I get the pics developed I will post some on here. We had a house full and lots of fun. I ordered a cake from Rick's Bakery in Fayetteville. The party's theme was Elmo. So I had them make an Elmo cake. OH MY GOODNESS! I was absolutely amazed over this cake! It was PERFECT. (picture will go here later).

Caleb is a very loved little boy. Briley, Christy, Ronnie, Hallie, Jason, Heather, Jadyn, Justin, Candi, Kara, Gale, Grammy, NeNe, Big Daddy, and Uncle NoNo were all here. He got lots of clothes (mom is always more excited about the clothes than the kids are...hehe) and quite a few toys as well. Briley got him a big 'ole dump truck. It is big enough for him to sit in - and he does...and then expects me to push him around in it :o) But it is fun. Hallie got him some really cute clothes from Old Navy - and some of the COOLEST shoes ever!! Mom can't wait until he can wear them :o) Jadyn got him a night-time bear. It lights up and changes colors. He has slept with it every night so far. Kara and Gale got him some clothes. John Deere clothes to be exact. Grammy got him some movies (veggie tales, tom & jerry movies), some clothes and a Sand & Water Table. It is pretty neat. We are going to break it out tonight and let him play in it...outside on the deck of course :o) NeNe and Big Daddy got him some clothes (bought his easter outfit for next year - it is adorable) and a tricycle! He loves the tricycle!! He can't quite reach the peddles yet, but it won't be long and our house is going to be a race track! What fun to look forward too! Sam and I got him a sit 'n spin (Diego is on it -one if his favorites right now) and a guitar. It is small enough for him to hold. Where you would "strum" there is an opening that has sensors so when you stick your hand in there it starts to play music. He is so funny with it. He just walks around the house carrying it, occasionally playing and dancing around. It is too cute.

Saturday evening we went to the Promenade Mall and then to Rack Room Shoes (mom and dad needed new tennis shoes). Then we came back home and fixed mater sandwiches again. You just can't go wrong with a tomato sandwich. Then we broke out the Dominoes for a little Mexican Train. we always have fun playing that game. And it is one that doesn't get old - b/c every game is different and you never know who is going to win! We finally went to bed around 1:30.

Sunday morning dad got up to take Daniel back to the airport. He got there in time to find out that he was not going to be able to get on the first flight out of xna, but they secured him a seat on the next flight leaving at 6pm. So on their way back to the house, they stopped at Krispy Kreme and got some doughnuts. I haven't had those in a long time!! They were good!! We all got dressed and headed to church. Sunday was Dr. Tom and Peggy Hatley's 15th anniversary at Immanuel Baptist. So the day was planned around thanking them for their time and service. The church gave them a vacation to Hawaii. Peggy's dream vacation ever since her and Tom were married. It was sweet.

After church we went to Chili's to eat. Bro Joe Atchison met us there. He is so sweet. After lunch, we headed back to the house. Mom and dad needed to get on the road. They were going to Danville for Sunday night services and to visit friends from Danville. Sam and I took Daniel back to the airport. His flight was delayed, but they finally left at 7pm. After that - Sam, caleb and I CRASHED. We were so tired. But we had a blast!!
